I recently discovered via Daily Diatribe that Margo Kingston has buggered off to Fremantle in WA. Usually Margo's spelling is just all over the joint like a pig's breakfast. But in the entry relating to this journey there's one particular error that's loaded with irony. See, she calls her destination "Freemantle". I know the place very well and can assure you that it's anything but. It's like the mouldy-ol'-prison capital of the Southern Hemisphere. Now, however, the incarceration is metaphorical: It's home to thousands of bong-suckling barbarians trapped in the Stalinism of the seventies. Margo will feel right at home. Might even settle down there, I reckon. |
