Being a fully paid-up card-carrying member of the RWDB club, I feel almost duty bound to rail at whatever David Marr says. But to be honest, I think his analysis is spot on in his latest article for the Feral.
It's about the silly kerfuffle over homophobic on-air comments by John Laws and Steve Price. Referring to the NSW Administrative Decisions Tribunal's demand that both publicly eat crow on the matter Marr writes:
But how could poofters welcome such "limits on what can be said" while still claiming the right to their own free, vigorous and at times insulting speech - not least in the big parade in a fortnight's time?
Good point. But sadly, many gay Stalinists have no problem with this double standard. They retain the juvenile attitude that they deserve special protection.
