I'm not losing sleep over the threat of terrorism in Sydney yet. But it's certainly put me on edge: I'd just hopped on the train into the city at Stanmore station. There were only a couple of people in that particular carriage. I went to sit down and saw a black sports bag on the seat. I immediately thought: terrorist bomb. I saw a Citirail guy on the train a carriage or so down. I told him about it. He said he'd inform security at the next station. I wasn't taking any chances. I walked right down to the far end of the train for the rest of the journey - just in case. Sure, the chance of it being a bomb was remote. But still, it put the wind up me. |
